We help you get there

Every nonprofit starts with an idea that becomes a mission

But in the nonprofit world, the mission is more of a journey than a destination. There is always more you can do, further you can go. As a creative nonprofit consultancy, Antonym can help you get there, whether you need new and exciting projects that fit your mission, strategic planning that keeps you moving forward, or new approaches to guide you across that next ravine.

Testimonials

``Antonym's creativity, drive, and innovation - that’s what makes them stand out. What takes other people months, they can figure out in a day, a week, sometimes even a few hours.``

Peter Cimino

Executive Director, Branford Counseling & Community Services

``Our Board knew we wanted to add to our outreach, but we didn’t know what. After a 3-hour conversation with Antonym, we had a great project that not only fit our mission, but was achievable and exciting.``

Marcelle Applewhaite

Treasurer, Martin Luther King Heritage Foundation

``We never thought a top-notch comedy event with nationally known/televised comics would be within reach. Ellen and Andy pulled off a spectacular event with a very modest budget. It sold out within 10 days, with sponsorships 90% higher than the previous year! Between producing, creating powerful marketing materials, and exceeding expectations, Ellen and Andy make quite a team.``

Mary-Margaret Mandel

Executive Director, Orchard House

“It’s fun and exciting to work with Andy and Ellen. They are big-thinkers, but, more importantly, they can get the job done.``

Liza Janssen Petra

Executive Director, Branford Community Foundation

``The partners at Antonym really have something special. They’re not only creative, but they also intuitively seem to understand your mission and your goals and know how to make them pop.``

Sue Wharfe

Board Member, Branford Microfund

Our Approach

The partners at Antonym are, as our name suggests, opposites: Ellen Carucci, a successful publishing executive who transitioned to nonprofit work, paired with Andy Marlatt, a comedy writer and former journalist who more or less backed into it. (He couldn’t say no.) Those differences are our strengths. Imaginative and innovative. Collaborative and can-do.
